Roofing
The lead trade, and the one the business is named for. Full roof replacement starts with a tear-off down to the decking, because that is the only point at which anyone can see what the old roof was hiding — soft sheathing, a failed valley, a vent that was never flashed properly. Damaged decking gets replaced, then underlayment, ice and water barrier at the eaves and valleys, new flashing where the roof meets walls and penetrations, and the covering goes on from the eaves up. Repairs get the same look first: a leak shows up where gravity puts it, not where it started.

Siding
Siding is the other half of keeping weather out of a house, and it fails more quietly than a roof does — there is no drip on the ceiling to tell you about it. Replacement starts by pulling the old material and looking at the sheathing and the house wrap behind it, since that is where rot and past water tracks show. New siding goes on over a proper weather barrier with the courses kept level and the laps running the right way, and the trim, corners and penetrations get detailed so water is shed outward rather than led behind the wall.

Electrical
Residential electrical work, most often as part of a remodel — a kitchen that needs circuits where there were none, a bathroom that needs proper GFCI protection, a room being opened up that needs its lighting rethought rather than relocated. Outlets, switches, fixtures, dedicated circuits and panel work. Old houses in this part of Illinois routinely turn up wiring that was fine when it went in and is not fine now, and that gets flagged when we find it rather than buried behind new drywall.

Bathroom & Kitchen Remodeling
Full renovations of the two rooms where everything has to be coordinated at once — demolition, plumbing, electrical, surfaces and fixtures, each waiting on the one before it. Bathrooms live or die on what goes in behind the tile: the waterproofing, the slope of the pan, the way the wall board meets the tub. Kitchens are mostly a sequencing problem, since the room has to keep being a kitchen for as much of the job as possible. Both get the same approach — the hidden work done properly, because it is the part nobody can inspect afterwards.

Drywall
Hanging, taping, finishing and repair. Most of the visible quality of a drywall job is in the finishing rather than the hanging: how flat the joints are, whether the screw heads telegraph, whether the corners are actually straight when light rakes across them. Sheets are hung to break joints sensibly and screwed off to the framing, then joints are taped and built out in coats with drying time between them — which is the step that gets compressed on a rushed job and shows up the first sunny afternoon.

Painting
Interior and exterior painting where the preparation gets the time it needs. Inside: surfaces washed down, nail holes and cracks filled and sanded flush, bare and patched areas spot-primed, and everything that is not being painted masked off properly before a brush is opened. Outside: the surface has to be sound and dry first, because paint over chalking, peeling or damp siding fails on schedule no matter how good the product was. Cut in clean, laid off evenly, and the site left tidy.

Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl plank and sheet flooring, installed over a subfloor that has been made flat first. That is the whole job, really: vinyl is thin and it telegraphs whatever is underneath it, so a dip, a proud seam or a loose board will show through the finished floor and get worse with traffic. The subfloor gets checked and levelled, the material is laid out so the seams and the plank pattern fall sensibly rather than landing in a doorway, and transitions and trim finish the edges properly.
